Downtown Business Association of Charlottesville


Blue Ridge Group was tasked with developing a new and inclusive identity for the Downtown Business Association of Charlottesville (DBAC). To encourage regional residents to eat, shop and discover Downtown, we created a bold new logo and marketing campaign that focused on the variety of unique experiences to be had by locals and visitors alike. Downtown Charlottesville offers dining, shopping, music, wellness, arts and culture, all in one easily walkable area. The Discover Uncommon campaign included a new website with custom events calendar for Downtown happenings, print ads in local publications, digital banner ads, television commercials, light pole banners on the Downtown Mall, organic and paid social media advertising, as well as search engine marketing (SEM).

In 2020, Blue Ridge Group designed and promoted the Downtown Cville Gift Card, a new product that encourages support for Downtown’s fantastic local businesses. Sales of the gift card online, in select stores and via self-service kiosk were boosted by a press release, television commercials and paid and organic social media video ads, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in sales in just the first few weeks of the program.
